What is Baby Reflexology?

Baby Reflexology is a specialised form of Reflexology tailored for Babies. Whilst researching the benefits of Reflexology for babies and children with asthma it was found that babies and children responded very well to Reflexology for other childhood ailments. Baby Reflexology is a very gentle, very effective natural therapy.

Questions and Answers

Q.   How old does my Baby have to be to attend a Baby Reflexology Course?
A.    We recommend that your Baby is about 4weeks old minimum. We suggest this age to give Mums the opportunity to get to know their Babies – what they like and don’t like, what their cry means and any feeding/health issues
Q.   How long can I use Baby Reflexology on my child?
A.   Baby Reflexology can be used all through childhood – even teenagers love it as it brings back warm, secure feelings of their Parents’ loving touch!
Q.   What if my Baby has an existing condition?
A.    We would recommend that you check with your Baby’s own Doctor before treating with Reflexology. In most circumstances Baby Reflexology can only be beneficial.
Q.   Can Baby Reflexology have an adverse effect on my Baby?
A.   There are some instances where we would recommend that you check with your Doctor first but they are few and far between. On the Course these instances/contra-indications will be explained to you.
Q.   Can Baby Reflexology harm or hurt my Baby?
A.    No. Baby Reflexology is a very gentle, natural therapy that helps your Baby’s body help itself.
Q.   Surely putting pressure on my Baby’s foot would hurt my Baby?
A.    As Babies are so young and don’t have the “baggage” an adult may have they respond very well to Baby Reflexology and therefore only a very light touch is necessary.
Q.   My Baby never keeps still – he is such a wriggler! How can I work on his feet long enough for Reflexology to be effective?
A.   As Babies respond so well to Baby Reflexology it is only necessary to work on a given point/area for a maximum of 20 to 30 seconds! On the Course you will be shown how to work with “wriggling feet”.
Q.   Do I need any previous knowledge of Reflexology?
A.    No. You will be shown all that is necessary to care for your Baby from a Reflexology point of view.
Q.   What do I need to bring with me?
A.    Just your Baby! One of the benefits of Baby Reflexology is that it can be done anywhere at anytime. No specific area or room has to be prepared before treating.
Q.   Do you use creams or oils whilst doing Baby Reflexology?
A.    No. It is not recommended that any creams or oils are used. Find out why on a Baby Reflexology Course.

What happens on a Baby Reflexology Course?

Baby Reflexology Courses run for one hour a week for four weeks. Mums (or Dads/Grandparents/Caregivers) are shown specific points for specific ailments and also a short routine to maintain health. To show you how your Baby will feel you may try out these reflex points on other Mums on the Course – not compulsory – (thereby receiving some treatment yourself!) before using them on your Baby. This helps familiarise you with the points and gives you the confidence to treat your own Baby.

How much does a Baby Reflexology Course Cost?

Baby Reflexology Course cost just £45 per adult. By running Courses with a minimum of 4 adults the cost
can be kept low. If you would like to host a Baby Reflexology Course in your home with a minimum of
4 adults as a way of a thank you the hostess will be offered a reduced price.

If you would like 1 to 1 tuition the sessions would cost £20 each – possibly only three sessions
would be necessary.
